 Jewel Campbell

Jewel wants nothing more than to be have mystical powers and complete her first spell. Her love of the supernatural puts her at odds with her straight-laced mother, Shirley. If Shirley had it her way, Jewel would be into more normal things, like cheer squad. Encouraged by her quirky Grandma Ini, Jewel learns how to do small things, like which oils promote recovery, which plants help heal wounds, but Jewel longs to tap into the powerful stuff. 

It isn't until Jewel is pranked by the most popular girl at school, Bree Ainsley, that she is able to tap into a well of power she never knew existed. 

When the her life, and those of her new friends are on the line, Jewel must muster up the courage to finally access that power and save them all. And all on her second day of school!

Magnolia Eze

Magnolia is shy, introverted, and a tad awkward. Secretly, she's been dying to make a new friend, other than her longtime bestie, and biggest crush, Kevin Lee. In the hopes of meeting some like minds, she creates the photography club at school, but in a smart phone world, no one cares about dark rooms or film developing. Then, one day, Jewel sits next to her and Kevin on the bus, and Magnolia's whole world changes. 

 Magnolia didn't realize in that moment, that drama followed Jewel wherever she went. In one day, they made enemies with the most popular girl in school, and run for their lives from the entire zombified student body. But, if Magnolia were to be honest, she'd run from zombies any day if it meant having a friend as cool as Jewel.

Kevin Li

Kevin has no coordination or special skills outside of remembering Magnolia's favourite candy and reciting the intro to his favourite anime in full Japanese. He's...mostly oblivious to Magnolia's feelings. He's too preoccupied with chasing every other girl with a pulse to think about it much. He was pumped to start high school, rebrand himself, maybe join a sports team, bulk up a little and meet some girls who appreciated his quiet brilliance. Then he met Jewel. She's confident, cool, and the goth thing really works for her. But despite his love of fantasy universes, Kevin struggles to adapt to the new changes Jewel brings with her. He likes escaping to fantasy worlds, not having them abruptly hold him hostage. But after all the dust settles, Kevin finds himself more interested in Jewel, and whatever chaos follows her.

Grandma Ini

Ini excels at weaving her power into poultices, balms, teas and brews to help with everyday aches, pains and cuts, and sometimes, more serious ailments. In her younger days, Ini was a tough and strict parents who didn't brook any insolence. She's mellowed with age, and now finds joy spoiling her rowdy grandkids. She's thrilled when Jewel's innate ability surfaces and excited to pass on the family traditions and knowledge, something she failed to do with her daughter, Shirley. Shirley's rejection of their power felt like a rejection of Ini herself, and they haven't been able to see eye to eye on anything since. Still, Ini is over the moon when Shirley invites her to live with them in their new home, and take care of the kids. Despite their problems, she's missed her family dearly since their move. Ini hopes, in time, she and Shirley will be able to make amends.

Daeven & Dante

Daeven and Dante are two rambunctious, meddlesome 9-year-old boys hunting for a new
puzzle to solve. As twins they tend to finish each other's sentences and know exactly what the other is thinking, constantly getting into silly hijinks together. Daeven has the more level head and asks the important questions. Dante barrels ahead to find the answers instead of bothering to wait to ask questions. Until recently, their amateur sleuthing was largely make believe, performed out of boredom in their new, quiet home. But they soon discover this town might be more than they bargained for. With all the strange things happening around them, Daeven hesitates to get involved, while his brother is eager to unearth this town's secrets.

Antagonists

There's the regular Parent Teacher Association, and then there's the elite clique of PTA women on the board, who are also witches. Behind the scenes, with their powerful families and connections, Kelley Ainsley, Dominique Brere, Siobhan Mackenzie, and Shauna Maxwell-Robsy are manipulating the town and its people to get what they want: more power.

• Kelley, Bree's mother, is a high powered lawyer whose mother was the founder of Spirits' Hollow. As one of the First Families, she married the second richest man in town, Richard Ainsley. Kelley founded the PTA witches with other housewives of the First Families when she found an old grimoire boxed away in her mother's things. Once she realized there was even more power to be had, she was insatiable. 

• Dominique is a dedicated housewife to Councilman David Brere and mother of Caitlyn. With three mature children, Dominique was searching for new meaning outside of her almost empty nest, when she connected with Kelley.

• Siobhan, a stay at home mom desperate for adult interaction, snatched up the fun idea of a secret coven without any hesitation.

• Shauna was the most controversial addition to their pretend coven. Almost fifteen years younger than the other women, Shauna is Dorian Rosby - the richest man in town's - second wife. She's young, arrogant and full of ideas, but is able to tap into the grimoire with almost innate talent. Reluctantly, the other women accept her into the coven.
